Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. The university is widely acknowledged for starting the modern investigation of the scientific study of children's eyeswitness memories and the role of child victims as witnesses in the legal realm. Professor Goodman regularly publishes her work and has been awarded numerous grants, and has been honored with many International and national awards. She has provided advice to numerous government agencies and governments all over the world on policy and studies related to treatment of child victims by the legal system. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). Professor Goodman is a member in a variety of professional organizations like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is also a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology-Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
